OFC Michael Vernacchio #509

Officer Michael S. Vernacchio, Jr. has been a police officer with Narberth Borough since 2009. Officer Vernacchio is a 1996 graduate of Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School and went on to attend Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA. While in college, Officer Vernacchio was a four year varsity letterman on the football team and was team captain in 1999. He graduated in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration. Prior to joining the Narberth Police Department, Officer Vernacchio worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department from 2005 to 2009 where he served in the Courts, Transportation, Warrants and Civil divisions. Currently, Officer Vernacchio is the senior officer of the department, and serves as the field training officer, along with supervising the Mountain Bike Patrol Unit. He resides in Norristown with his wife Kimberly, son Michael III, and daughter Elaina Marie.

OFC Sean McCabe #508

Officer McCabe joined the Narberth Police Department in April of 2012.  Prior to working in Narberth, Officer McCabe worked for 8.5 years with the City of Philadelphia.  While working for the City of Philadelphia, Officer McCabe was assigned as a patrol officer to several districts.  In November of 2011, Officer McCabe was promoted to the rank of Corporal and assigned to the 22nd District in North Philadelphia.  As a Corporal in the City, Officer McCabe worked as the operation room supervisor, overseeing a staff of 8 officers and a civilian employee.   As Corporal, Officer McCabe was responsible for the daily activities that occur within a police district, such as proper coding of crimes for the Uniform Crime Reporting required by the FBI and assisting members of the public with filing police reports.  Officer McCabe received other specialized training while with the city such as, an IPMBA certified bike officer, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) member, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) training, and Latent Fingerprint development.  Officer McCabe graduated from Villanova University with a BA in Communications.

OFC Matthew J. Belfi #513

Officer Matthew J. Belfi was sworn in on January 3rd, 2014. He previously worked in the Philadelphia Police Department for nearly ten years prior to being hired by Narberth PD. He was a decorated officer in the Philadelphia Police Department and served in several locations in the city as a patrol officer. Officer Belfi was trained as a IPMBA certified bike officer, Major Incident Response Team (MIRT), Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and received specialized training with the rifle and shotgun, while employed by the City of Philadelphia. He has been in the Army National Guard and Reserves since 1996 and completed two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and also completed a training exercise in Egypt, in the vicinity of Cairo. He is a rated U.S. Army Aviator and possesses an Associates Degree from Valley Forge Military College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In addition to being a patrol officer, Officer Belfi is also the department's webmaster and is also in charge of fleet management.

OFC Kelly Lynn #511

Officer Lynn was born and raised in the borough of Narberth, her parents, grandparents and great grandparents were also Narberth residents. Officer Lynn attended Narberth Presbyterian and St. Margaret School in the Borough. She went on to attend Archbishop John Carroll High School followed by the University of Tampa where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology with a second concentration in Psychology. After graduation she moved back to Pennsylvania where she worked for the Haverford School part-time and for Harcum College full-time doing security. While working at Harcum she put herself through the Montgomery County Municipal Police Academy in the evening class. She was the only female and was Sergeant of her class. After graduating the academy she put her psychology classes to use and got a job at Montgomery County Emergency Services- Building 50 in Norristown working as a psychiatric technician and was later promoted to forensic liaison. In September of 2012 she was sworn in as the second female to work in Narberth Borough Police Department. Officer Lynn has received training in Interview/Interrogation, Crisis Intervention and Standard Field Sobriety Testing. Officer Lynn is a Bike officer and is a trained hostage negotiator for Montgomery County. Officer Lynn is in charge of scheduling court documents for the department, she is also the juvenile investigator.
